Daniel Watson

University Relations Manager | U.S. West, Canada, Latin America, Iberia

Daniel is the Salt Lake City-based University Relations Manager for U.S. West, Canada, Latin America and Spain & Portugal and serves as the primary contact for member institutions in those regions. He works closely with coordinators in these regions to promote mobility, develop new programs and facilitate strategic initiatives, manage exchange numbers, and uphold membership standards. Daniel earned his B.A. in History and Spanish at the University of Puget Sound and his M.A. in International Education Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. He began his career in international education in Spain as a Cultural Ambassador and private language teacher, and has worked in study abroad offices at Portland Community College, and most recently, at University of Utah. Daniel currently serves as the Communications Rep for NAFSA Region II and sits on the Diversity Abroad Marketing, Outreach, & Recruitment Task Force. In his free time, Daniel likes to explore the Western U.S. with his partner and their two Border Collies, skiing, hiking, mountain biking and whatever else is in season.
