Following elevated alert levels issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the U.S. State Department, ISEP has made the difficult decision to cease on-site programming at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. All students should depart Italy as soon as possible.
Cattolica students taking international curriculum courses will be able to continue their coursework remotely after returning to their home countries. Cattolica’s current plan is to resume courses on March 9th. More details will be shared on the logistics of this by ISEP and Cattolica in the coming week.
For students taking regular university courses, we are currently exploring options to also continue their studies remotely.
We are in touch with Pavia and Urbino students regarding their program and additional logistical details. At this time, students on both campuses should make plans to return home.
The health, safety, and well-being of our students is ISEP’s number one priority. As such, students are asked to confirm when they are departing Milan and what their travel plans are. Once departure details are confirmed, students are asked to share these details with Ariel Klein at aklein@isep.org.

ISEP is currently in conversations with our Italian member institutions. We continue to assess the situation and identify options for students to complete their studies this semester. We will communicate updates as soon as they are available. We recommend all students follow health guidelines provided by the CDC and WHO.

We are aware that the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention have elevated their travel advisories for Italy to a Level 3: Reconsider Travel. ISEP is actively working to find appropriate and safe solutions for all ISEP students in Italy.
ISEP Study Abroad’s first priority is the health and safety of students.
While we work on our response, we strongly encourage all students in Italy to follow the current guidelines on protecting themselves from the virus, as outlined by the The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) detailed information on Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and The World Health Organization’s (WHO)’s recommendations of basic protective measures regarding Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
