About the Scholarship
ISEP is proud to serve our members in Africa by encouraging student participation in our broad array of programs across the continent. The ISEP Africa for All Scholarship is intended to make these programs more inclusive and accessible to students attending HBCUs and heritage-seeking students, which are defined as:
Students at HBCUs: Those that attend a Historically Black College or University within the ISEP Community
Heritage-seeking students: Those who choose their study abroad location based on having cultural heritage in Africa
Who can apply?
Any HBCU or heritage-seeking student from the United States who plans to attend an ISEP program in Africa can apply.
How much is awarded to scholarship recipients?
ISEP will award scholarships of US$1000.

Fill out the brief demographic survey and a short biographical essay.

Please note that once you begin your application you cannot leave the webpage until you press “Submit.” Applications cannot be saved and you will not be able to return to a submitted application.
Application deadline:
- Applications for students planning on attending a program during the Fall semester SM1 (August-December) or Full-Year (August-May) must be submitted by April 1.
- Applications for students planning on attending a program in the Spring semester SM2 (January-June) must be submitted by October 15.
- Students who plan to attend a Summer program (June-August) can apply for either deadline.

When scholarships are awarded:
Applicants will be chosen via a lottery system. Students who plan to attend a program with a start date between August-December will be notified by the end of April. Students who plan to attend a program with a start date between January-June will be notified in mid-November.
As a part of the scholarship acceptance process, recipients are expected to complete a brief project related to their study abroad experience (examples include producing social media content, participating in a study abroad fair, filming a short video, etc.) Project requirements will be sent out to recipients by the ISEP Scholarship Administrator after the selection phase.
