Arlington, VA — After the events that have transpired over the last few months in Nicaragua, ISEP has made the decision to suspend programs at Universidad Americana in Managua for the 2018-19 academic year. ISEP will reevaluate the program suspension in the coming months in preparation for the 2019-20 academic year.
The ISEP Health and Safety Task Force and Member Relations Department made this determination based on information from ISEP Coordinators at Universidad Americana, travel advisories issued by foreign governments and the continued state of emergency in Nicaragua.
Students interested in programs in Nicaragua are encouraged to contact ISEP regarding alternative ISEP programs that can meet their needs.
Please note that the suspension of all programs in Nicaragua means the following per ISEP’s health and safety protocols:
There are currently no ISEP students on program in Nicaragua. ISEP also does not recommend students travel to Nicaragua at this time. ISEP is not responsible for checking in with students post-program who may be traveling, or for checking in with students who are traveling to a country where ISEP has suspended or canceled programs due to health/safety reasons.
About ISEP: ISEP is the largest study abroad network in the world, dedicated to helping students overcome the financial and academic barriers to study abroad.
