After a month of studies at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, the school gave us a week off for Easter Break, and I decided to spend it in Tasmania and Sydney with my friends. Our jourey started when our multinational group of four exchange students (Russian, British, Japanese and Dutch) flew to Hobart, Tasmania.
Eaglehawk Neck and Port Arthur were the first spots that our Aussie friend, Silje, showed us. Incredibly gorgeous Port Arthur amazed me with such an interesting history: it used to be an inescapable prison for Australian convicts surrounded by forests and water.
The second day we spent walking around Mt. Field and taking lovely pictures of waterfalls there.
The rest of our journey in Tassie was a tremendous experience and brought us to the best ”must visit” spots for tourists in Tasmania, such as Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (where we could pet koalas and feed kangaroos), Mt. Wellington (from where we could see the whole view of Hobart city), Carlton Beach, Taroona Beach, Hastings Cave and Coningham Beach.
Overall, I was very satisfied with our trip to Tassie. If I was asked to describe Tasmania in few words I would say it is “untouched by humans.” This place is so naturally beautiful and gives off such good vibes and makes you want to stay longer.
