ISEP to Suspend All Programs In Turkey

August 10, 2016

After the events that have transpired in the last few months in Turkey, ISEP has decided to suspend programs in Turkey for the 2016-17 academic year.

The Health and Safety Task Force and Vice President of International Member Relations, Kristen Aguto, made this determination based on information from our ISEP coordinators, the continued state of emergency, the stability of the government and the changes affecting institutions of higher education. We will reevaluate the program suspension in the coming months in preparation for the February 2017 application deadline for the 2017-18 academic year.

Should you have students interested in programs in Turkey, we encourage you to contact ISEP for alternative sites that can meet the needs of your students.

Please note that the suspension of programs in Turkey means the following per ISEP’s health and safety protocols:

ISEP will initiate safety check-ins with ISEP students in cases of a level 1 emergencies for students who are currently within the start and end dates of their ISEP program. The decision to check-in with students will be determined based on the location, size and scope of an event. ISEP is not responsible for checking in with students post-program who may be traveling or for checking in with students who are traveling to a country where ISEP has suspended or canceled programs due to health/safety reasons. Should a student be traveling after his/her program or in a country where ISEP has suspended/canceled a program for health/safety reasons and have active ISEP insurance, the student should contact ISEP for assistance and ISEP will do its due diligence to assist.
